CONTEXT: HUMAN RIGHTS FILMS IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIAL INVISIBILITY.
CINE LUSO is a creative and philosophical encounter aimed at tackling contemporary issues. With more than 100 films screened during the first three years, the project is now in its fourth edition for which it aspires to convey the realities specific to the cultures of various Portuguese-speaking countries (countries with Portuguese as an official language), by using audiovisual language as an analysis tool. More than an event, the project is presented as a search for dialogue and the construction of content in a collaborative way.
Topic Overview:
The concept of social invisibility has been applied to socially invisible beings, either through indifference or prejudice. This fact leads us to understand that such phenomenon only affects those who are at the margins of society.
The intention of this fifth issue is to question society’s responsibility for the reaffirmation of stereotypes and the urgent need for awareness about the models adopted as acceptable standards or even the conscious denial of otherness – The relationship between the situation of non-recognition and subjective and identity processes, which will bring us to the understanding of aesthetic, cultural, social and economic prejudices.
In the case of social invisibility, there is a vicious cycle: the impossibility of being looked at makes it difficult to create answers that allow some kind of productive inclusion.
As in the other editions, experts will be invited to debate the films presented in the context of the sub-themes.

1. WOMEN’S VISIBILITY, A PROCESS OF SELF-CONSTRUCTION?
Invisibility as a result of patriarchy in the face of the structuring of male power through the appropriation or usurpation of female power. A permanent struggle for historical reparation.
Focus: femininity/feminism/historical invisibility of women’s place
2. AND WHEN INVISIBILITY CONVERGES?
An intersectional view: Social invisibility and human fragility exposed in various forms of oppression.
Focus: The interaction between two or more forms of subordination – of gender, race, class, sexuality, among others.
3. IS SEEING THE SAME AS PERCEIVING?
The excluded is the one who is not seen, who is not recognized, who does not belong. Precariousness linked to insecurity, instability and exposure to borderline situations that result from the naturalization of indigence by society.
Focus: undocumented/homeless/other
4. LACK OF ACCESSIBILITY – A FORM OF DISCRIMINATION?
People with disabilities, ignored in ordinary daily life, go from social exclusion to marginalization.
Focus: People with disabilities
5. INVISIBLE SOCIAL, VISIBLE FUNCTION?
The invisible worker who lives the exclusion consented by those who depend on it and need it. The process of instrumentalization of the subject towards dehumanization.
Focus: Informal workers
6. PREJUDICE OR MORAL BLINDNESS?
The bodies rejected by indifference favor the ostracism, the depreciation and the social death of the identity groups in the logic of the prejudices
Focus: Elderly, obese, others
7. INVISIBILIZED PEOPLES, THREATENED CITIZENSHIP?
Ignored or unrecognized traditional peoples and communities who resist in precariousness and in the denial of their rights
Focus: Indigenous peoples, nomads, others.

FILMES SOBRE DIREITOS HUMANOS NO CONTEXTO DA INVISIBILIDADE SOCIAL.
O CINE LUSO é um encontro criativo e filosófico que visa abordar as questões contemporâneas. Com mais de 100 filmes projectados nos primeiros três anos, o projecto encontra-se na quarta edição para a qual pretende transmitir as realidades próprias das culturas dos vários países de língua portuguesa (países de língua oficial portuguesa), por utilizando a linguagem audiovisual como ferramenta de análise.
Visão geral do tema:
O conceito de invisibilidade social tem sido aplicado a seres socialmente invisíveis, seja através da indiferença ou do preconceito. Este facto leva-nos a compreender que tal fenómeno apenas afecta aqueles que se encontram à margem da sociedade.
A intenção desta quinta questão é questionar a responsabilidade da sociedade pela reafirmação de estereótipos e a necessidade urgente de consciência sobre os modelos adoptados como padrões aceitáveis ou mesmo a negação consciente da alteridade – A relação entre a situação de não reconhecimento e os processos subjectivos e identitários, o que nos levará à compreensão dos preconceitos estéticos, culturais, sociais e económicos.
No caso da invisibilidade social, existe um ciclo vicioso: a impossibilidade de ser olhado torna difícil criar respostas que permitam algum tipo de inclusão produtiva.
Tal como nas outras edições, os peritos serão convidados a debater os filmes apresentados no contexto dos subtemas.

1. VISIBILIDADE DA MULHER, UM PROCESSO DE AUTO-CONSTRUÇÃO?
Invisibilidade como resultado do patriarcado face à estruturação do poder masculino através da apropriação ou usurpação do poder feminino. Uma luta permanente por uma reparação histórica.
Foco: feminilidade/feminismo/ invisibilidade histórica do lugar da mulher
2. E QUANDO A INVISIBILIDADE CONVERGE?
Uma visão interseccional: invisibilidade social e fragilidade humana exposta em várias formas de opressão.
Foco: A interacção entre duas ou mais formas de subordinação – de género, raça, classe, sexualidade, entre outras.
3. 3. É VER, PERCEBER?
O excluído é aquele que não é visto, que não é reconhecido, que não pertence. Precariedade ligada à insegurança, instabilidade e exposição a situações de fronteira que resultam da naturalização da indigência pela sociedade.
Foco: Sem-documentação/ sem-abrigo / Encarcerados/ Outros
4. FALTA DE ACESSIBILIDADE – UMA FORMA DE DISCRIMINAÇÃO?
As pessoas com deficiência, ignoradas na vida quotidiana comum, passam da exclusão social para a marginalização.
Foco: Pessoas com deficiência
5. INVISÍVEL SOCIAL, FUNÇÃO VISÍVEL?
O trabalhador invisível que vive a exclusão consentida por aqueles que dependem dela e dela necessitam. O processo de instrumentalização do sujeito para a desumanização.
Âmbito: Trabalhadores informais, operários
6. PRECONCEITO OU CEGUEIRA MORAL?
Os corpos rejeitados pela indiferença promovem o ostracismo, a depreciação e a morte social dos grupos de identidade na lógica do preconceito
Foco: Idosos, obesos, outros
7. POVOS INVISIBILIZADOS, CIDADANIA AMEAÇADA?
Ignorados ou não reconhecidos os povos e comunidades tradicionais que resistem na precariedade e na negação dos seus direitos
Âmbito: povos indígenas, nómadas, outros.

FR// FILMS SUR LES DROITS HUMAINS DANS LE CONTEXTE DE L’INVISIBILITÉ SOCIALE.
Aperçu du sujet :
Le concept d’invisibilité sociale a été appliqué à des êtres socialement invisibles, soit par indifférence, soit par préjugés. Ce fait nous amène à comprendre que ce phénomène ne touche que ceux qui sont en marge de la société.
L’intention de ce cinquième numéro est de s’interroger sur la responsabilité de la société dans la réaffirmation des stéréotypes et sur l’urgence d’une prise de conscience des modèles adoptés comme normes acceptables, voire du déni conscient de l’altérité – La relation entre la situation de non-reconnaissance et les processus subjectifs et identitaires, qui nous amènera à la compréhension des préjugés esthétiques, culturels, sociaux et économiques.
Dans le cas de l’invisibilité sociale, il y a un cercle vicieux : l’impossibilité d’être regardé rend difficile la création de réponses qui permettent une sorte d’inclusion productive.
Comme lors des autres éditions, des experts seront invités à débattre des films présentés dans le cadre des sous-thèmes.

L’invisibilité comme résultat du patriarcat face à la structuration du pouvoir masculin par l’appropriation ou l’usurpation du pouvoir féminin. Une lutte permanente pour la réparation historique.
Focus: féminité/féminisme/invisibilité historique de la place des femmes
2. ET QUAND L’INVISIBILITÉ CONVERGE ?
Un regard intersectionnel : L’invisibilité sociale et la fragilité humaine exposées sous diverses formes d’oppression.
Focus: L’interaction entre deux ou plusieurs formes de subordination – de genre, de race, de classe, de sexualité, entre autres.
3. VOIR, C’EST PERCEVOIR ?
L’exclu est celui qui n’est pas vu, qui n’est pas reconnu, qui n’a pas sa place. Précarité liée à l’insécurité, l’instabilité et l’exposition à des situations limites qui résultent de la naturalisation de l’indigence par la société.

4. LE MANQUE D’ACCESSIBILITÉ – UNE FORME DE DISCRIMINATION ?
Les personnes handicapées, ignorées dans la vie quotidienne ordinaire, passent de l’exclusion sociale à la marginalisation.
Focus: Personnes handicapée
5. SOCIAL INVISIBLE, FONCTION VISIBLE ?
Le travailleur invisible qui vit l’exclusion consentie par ceux qui en dépendent et en ont besoin. Le processus d’instrumentalisation du sujet vers la déshumanisation.
Focus: Ouvriers/travailleurs informels
6. PRÉJUGÉS OU CÉCITÉ MORALE ?
Les corps rejetés par l’indifférence favorisent l’ostracisme, la dépréciation et la mort sociale des groupes identitaires dans la logique des préjugés
Focus: Personnes âgées, obèses, autres
7. PEUPLES INVISIBILISÉS, CITOYENNETÉ MENACÉE ?
Les peuples et communautés traditionnels ignorés ou non reconnus qui résistent dans la précarité et dans le déni de leurs droits

Overzicht van het onderwerp:
Het begrip sociale onzichtbaarheid is toegepast op mensen die sociaal onzichtbaar zijn, hetzij door onverschilligheid, hetzij door vooroordelen. Dit feit doet ons begrijpen dat dit verschijnsel alleen diegenen treft die zich in de marge van de samenleving bevinden.
Dit vijfde nummer is bedoeld om de verantwoordelijkheid van de samenleving voor de herbevestiging van stereotypen aan de orde te stellen en de dringende noodzaak van bewustwording van de modellen die als aanvaardbare normen worden aangenomen, of zelfs de bewuste ontkenning van het anders-zijn – De relatie tussen de situatie van niet-erkenning en de subjectieve en identiteitsprocessen, die zal leiden tot het begrip van esthetische, culturele, sociale en economische vooroordelen
In het geval van sociale onzichtbaarheid is er sprake van een vicieuze cirkel: de onmogelijkheid om bekeken te worden maakt het moeilijk om reacties te creëren die een soort productieve insluiting mogelijk maken.
Net als in andere edities zullen deskundigen worden uitgenodigd om de films die in de subthema’s worden gepresenteerd, te bespreken.

1. DE ZICHTBAARHEID VAN VROUWEN, EEN PROCES VAN ZELFCONSTRUCTIE?
Onzichtbaarheid als gevolg van het patriarchaat tegenover de structurering van de mannelijke macht door de toe-eigening of usurpatie van de vrouwelijke macht. Een permanente strijd voor historische genoegdoening.
Focus: vrouwelijkheid/feminisme/historische onzichtbaarheid van de plaats van de vrouw
2. EN WANNEER ONZICHTBAARHEID CONVERGEERT?
Een intersectionele visie: sociale onzichtbaarheid en menselijke kwetsbaarheid blootgelegd in verschillende vormen van onderdrukking.
Focus: De interactie tussen twee of meer vormen van ondergeschiktheid – van onder meer geslacht, ras, klasse en seksualiteit.
3. 3. IS ZIEN, WAARNEMEN?
De uitgeslotene is degene die niet gezien wordt, die niet erkend wordt, die er niet bijhoort. Onzekerheid die verband houdt met onzekerheid, instabiliteit en blootstelling aan grenssituaties die het gevolg zijn van de naturalisatie van behoeftigheid door de maatschappij.
Focus: ongedocumenteerden/ongedocumenteerden (daklozen)/andere
4. GEBREK AAN TOEGANKELIJKHEID – EEN VORM VAN DISCRIMINATIE?
Mensen met een handicap, die in het gewone dagelijkse leven worden genegeerd, gaan van sociale uitsluiting naar marginalisering.
Focus: mensen met een handicap
5. ONZICHTBARE SOCIALE, ZICHTBARE FUNCTIE?
De onzichtbare arbeider die de uitsluiting beleeft waarmee degenen instemmen die van hem afhankelijk zijn en hem nodig hebben. Het proces van instrumentalisering van het subject naar ontmenselijking.
Focus: Informele werkers
6. VOOROORDELEN OF MORELE BLINDHEID?
Lichamen die door onverschilligheid worden afgewezen, bevorderen het ostracisme, de kleinering en de sociale dood van identiteitsgroepen in de logica van vooroordelen
Focus: Ouderen, zwaarlijvigen, anderen
7. ONZICHTBARE VOLKEREN, BEDREIGD BURGERSCHAP?
Genegeerde of niet-erkende traditionele volkeren en gemeenschappen die zich verzetten in onzekerheid en in de ontkenning van hun rechten

CINE LUSO – SPECIAL EDITION EULAT
Launch of the fifth edition of the transversal audiovisual festival on human rights in Portuguese-speaking countries and guest countries (lusophone). The theme in 2022 will be “The Ones and The Others – The Invisibles” and addresses the various facets of this concept.
This special edition of EULAT 4 Culture includes the short film “Ganha-pão” during the artistic residency at the Espirito Mundo Association, coordinated by Julian Boal (BR/AR), and also the feature film “O Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis”, as a tribute to the centenary of Saramago.
