EN// Brussels, 2021. A city made of 184 sparkling nationalities, many more colourful languages and thousands of beautiful stories. Brussels City of Stories invites you to discover some of them on 11 July at Bozar. To mark the last day of this initiative, Bozar with some partners of the Afropolitan Weekend & Forum will propose a plateau of storytelling performances. Some extract lectures of the prominent writer Leonora Milano and works performed by Afropean project asbl. The freshly written tale Sous le Dologuahi will be performed by Oumar Sow & Nassim Bougotaya in collaboration with Ras El Hanout asbl. Kuumba asbl’s Next Generation Speaks young artists will recite some slam poetry pieces.
Aline Yasmin (Espirito Mundo asbl) will present the poetic intervention “Para quem chega sem dizer adeus | For those who arrive without saying goodbye” & “We are all Marielle”.
Finally, an excerpt from the book ‘Born in the wrong place, at the wrong time, in the wrong body?’ wiil be performed by the author himself Ebale Zam Martino.
Brussels, City of stories was born from the common desire of seven cultural actors (Passa Porta, Muntpunt, Bozar, the Brussels Book Fair, 140, the City of Words in N-W and Picture Festival) to work together in a poetic and social way on the territory of Brussels.
FR// Bruxelles, 2021. Une ville-patchwork composée de 184 nationalités, d’un nombre encore plus important de langues bigarrées et de milliers de superbes histoires. Brussels City of Stories vous invite à découvrir certaines d’entre elles le 11 juillet, à Bozar. Pour clôturer en beauté cette initiative, Bozar et quelques-uns de ses partenaires de l’Afropolitan Weekend & Forum proposeront le dernier jour toute une série de spectacles de storytellings. Vous découvrirez la lecture d’extraits de la grande écrivaine Leonora Milano et des performances de l’Afropean project asbl, ou encore le tout nouveau conte Sous le Dologuahi, dans une performance de Oumar Sow & Nassim Bougotaya en collaboration avec Ras El Hanout asbl. Next Generation Speaks, proposé par l’asbl Kuumba, donnera par ailleurs la parole à de jeunes artistes qui réciteront quelques poèmes de slam.
Aline Yasmin (Espirito Mundo asbl) présentera l’intervention poétique « Para quem chega sem dizer adeus | Pour ceux qui arrivent sans dire au revoir » & «Nous sommes toutes Marielle ».
Enfin, un extrait du livre ‘Né au mauvais endroit, au mauvais moment, dans le mauvais corps?’ sera performé par l’auteur même Ebale Zam Martino.
Brussels, City of Stories est né du souhait commun de sept acteurs culturels (Passa Porta, Muntpunt, Bozar, la Foire du Livre de Bruxelles, le 140, la Ville des mots en N-O et Picture Festival) de s’engager ensemble de manière poétique et sociale sur le territoire de Bruxelles.
NL// Brussel anno 2021, een stad waar 184 bruisende nationaliteiten samenleven en waar nog veel meer kleurrijke talen wel duizenden prachtige verhalen vertellen. Brussels City of Stories laat je op 11 juli met een greep uit die verhalen kennismaken bij Bozar. Op de slotdag van dit mooie initiatief biedt Bozar, samen met enkele partners van het Afropolitan Weekend & Forum, een platform voor vertelperformances. Op het programma staan onder meer fragmenten uit lezingen van de beroemde schrijfster Leonora Milano en werken gebracht door de vzw Afropean project. Oumar Sow en Nassim Bougotaya brengen op hun beurt het kersverse verhaal Sous le Dologuahi, in samenwerking met de vzw Ras El Hanout. Jonge artiesten van Next Generation Speaks, van de vzw Kuumba, zullen dan weer slam poetry voordragen.
Aline Yasmin (vzw Espirito Mundo) zal de poëtische interventie “Para quem chega sem dizer adeus | Voor hen die aankomen zonder afscheid te nemen” & en “We zijn allemaal Marielle”.voorstellen.
Tot slot een fragment uit het boek “Geboren op de verkeerde plaats, op het verkeerde moment, in het verkeerde lichaam?” worden opgevoerd door de auteur zelf Ebale Zam Martino.
Brussels, City of Stories is gegroeid uit de gezamenlijke wens van zeven culturele spelers (Passa Porta, Muntpunt, Bozar, La Foire du Livre de Bruxelles, Le 140, Nord-Ouest Ville des Mots en Picture! Festival) om op een poëtische en sociale manier samen te werken op het Brussels grondgebied.
