The association takes part in another demonstration in favor of forest peoples and the environment and against the EU Mercosur treaty. Aline Yasmin, Director of the ASBL regularly takes part in the climate actions in Brussels, especially against the Brazilian environmental policy and the potential threats to human rights in Latin America.
The manifestations that count with the partnership of the young activist movement “Fridays For Future”, have the support of several activists and European parliamentarians linked to the fight against global warming.

Le 11 décembre 2020, le Conseil Européen s’est engagé à réduire les émissions de gaz à effets de 55% par rapport à 1990 dans le cadre de son Pacte Vert (Green Deal)
Les décisions prises par la suite sont malheureusement loin d’être cohérentes.La Politique Agricole Commune (PAC) renégociée tous les 7 ans favorise toujours des modèles très polluants non compatibles avec l’Accord de Paris.
Le Traité commercial UE-Mercosur est remis sur la table alors qu’on sait qu’il encourage la déforestation de l’Amazonie.
Le Traité sur la Charte de l’Énergie menace la transition écologique en ouvrant aux entreprises des recours contre les politiques climatiques.
La mise en œuvre législative du Green Deal risque d’être trop peu contraignante, alors que pour concrétiser ses objectifs on a besoin d’une loi climat forte (interdiction des subventions aux énergies fossiles, accès à la justice…)
Nous attendons toujours une taxe sur les transactions financières qui permettrait de récolter 50 milliards d’euros par an pour financer la santé, le climat et l’emploi.
De nombreux bien communs publics sont de plus en plus privatisés à l’échelle mondiale et nous nous associons à l’Agora des Habitants de la Terre et l’économiste Riccardo Petrella qui sera présent.
Ce sera aussi l’occasion d’affirmer qu’en France, le projet de Loi Climat déposé par le gouvernement français est loin d’être à la hauteur de l’urgence écologique. Bertrand Wert militant écologiste français interpellera à ce sujet le Président Macron. NL Oproep tot mobilisatie voor de Europese Raad van 25 maart Kleine Wetstraat (Exki Schuman) Op 11 december 2020 heeft de Europese Raad zich in het kader van zijn Green Deal ertoe verbonden de uitstoot van broeikasgassen met 55% te verminderen ten opzichte van 1990. De besluiten die daarna zijn genomen, zijn helaas verre van samenhangend. Het gemeenschappelijk landbouwbeleid, dat om de zeven jaar opnieuw wordt onderhandeld, geeft nog steeds de voorkeur aan zeer vervuilende modellen die niet verenigbaar zijn met de overeenkomsten van Parijs. Het EU-Mercosur-verdrag wordt weer op tafel gelegd als we weten dat het de ontbossing in het Amazonegebied aanmoedigt. Het Energiehandvestverdrag bedreigt de ecologische transitie door bedrijven open te stellen tegen klimaatbeleid. De wetgevende uitvoering van de Green Deal dreigt te licht restrictief te zijn, terwijl we om deze doelstellingen te bereiken een sterke klimaatwet nodig hebben (verbod op subsidies voor fossiele brandstoffen, toegang tot de rechter, enz.) We wachten nog steeds op een belasting op financiële transacties die 50 miljard euro per jaar zou opleveren om gezondheid, klimaat en werkgelegenheid te financieren. We merken ook op dat veel openbare gemeenschappelijke goederen in toenemende mate op wereldschaal worden geprivatiseerd: water, gezondheid, vaccins, onderwijs … en we werken samen met de Agora van de Inhabitants of the Earth en Riccardo Petrella.

Call for mobilization during the European Council of March 25. On 11 December 2020, the European Council committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 as part of the European Green Deal. The decisions taken subsequently are regrettably far from coherent:
– The Common Agricultural Policy, renegotiated every 7 years, still favors highly polluting farming practices that are not compatible with the Paris Agreement.
– The EU-Mercosur treaty is back on the table whereas we know that it encourages deforestation in the Amazon. – The Energy Charter Treaty threatens the ecological transition by allowing corporations to sue governments for their climate policies.
– The policy implementation of the Green Deal is not sufficiently binding, whereas to achieve its objectives we need a strong climate law (ban on fossil fuel subsidies, access to justice, etc.)
– We are still waiting for a tax on financial transactions that could raise 50 billion euros per year to finance health, climate and employment.
– Many public common goods are increasingly privatized on a global scale. We are partnering with the Agora of the Inhabitants of Earth and the economist Riccardo Petrella who will be with us.
