Launched at the invitation of our ASBL and MEP Marisa Matias, his film “Empate” at the European Parliament in 2019 – which tells the story of Chico Mendes, a militant murdered in the 80’s in Amazonia BR. In 2021 he was in Brussels and Amsterdam – in partnership with the ASBL to collaborate in debates around the threats to freedom and persecution of leaders in Amazonia.
YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON US – CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?
Our association has been established in Brussels since 2018 with a lot of dedication and engagement. We had a first space, in a temporary occupation in Brussels (SeeU/Ixelles) where we realized numerous projects and supported independent causes and artists. In 2022 the old occupation ended and we had to look for a new space. What motivated us in this new place is the possibility to build something collectively. A place of expression and creativity with focus on human rights and the environment.
The space will be open to the local community, but also a meeting point for people coming from other countries, because interculturality and plurality are our main relational aspects.
The point is that, with the support of volunteers and resources from the program of the Molenbeek municipality, we were able to open the space, but we still have many adaptations to make because it is a precarious occupation.
We have some possibilities of counterparts in our fundraising campaign, but obviously we can think together how it would be possible to count on your collaboration – It doesn’t matter the amount.
Why do we deserve to be helped?
- We support independent artists;
- We always work with our doors open and whenever possible with free events or spontaneous donations;
- We support in our space, manifestations, acts of citizenship, human rights, the indigenous cause and the defense of the environment.

With the result of this campaign, our members – all volunteers – will be able to hold debates, meetings, exhibitions, artistic residencies and many other projects that involve fundamental aspects of our living in society.
